Comments on the true bible

Tonight I want to work on a series of messages about the proof Jesus is the Son Of God. Many thought on this that I want to lay out in a report form mainly for me so I am able to refer to them from time to time. In this day and age I notice people like to tell me the Lord is not true and the Bible is not either. I somewhat want to hit them with the truths and allow them to have more to debate them on. I was reading today a book The Case For Christ and for the most part my thoughts are from there. It is done by Lee Strobel who yes has a show on tv on PAX. In tonight’s chapter he talks with Craig Bloomberg about the Gospels in the bible. I think this is a good place to start laying a case because Jesus is the focus of My blog and the Bible.

You know there are 4 gospels detailing to us the true story of Jesus and his life on earth. Matthew, mark and Luke are about the same topics and john is a lot different. In all four of the Gospels Jesus dies and rises again. John tells us more of the personal Jesus and how he was the Son and the truths that Jesus said he was God. In John Jesus uses the I AM phase which to the Jews at that time was the word for God. Here are some details of the 4 men God used to write the Gospels that are in the Bible.

Matthew was a tax man. He was a sinner that Jesus called and put on his team of 12. Matthew was in the eyes of the Jewish world a flawed man. Mark was a man that was helped by Peter to write his Gospel. Luke was a Doctor that worked with Paul. John was one of the 12 that Jesus led. I note that all four of the Gospels were written in 50 years of the events that Jesus did. Compared to Alexander the Great who was written about 500 years after he live the bible was a news flash.

Here is a truth Friend that made my faith soar tonight read it. How close to the Life of Jesus do we find proof in the bible. HERE MIGHT BE THE EARLTYEST THING WE GOT IN THE BIBLE. And it dates to LESS THAN 2 YEARS.

1 COR 15 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.[1]

Broken down a bit now. Cephas saw Jesus. This might be Peter but I am not sure. ( note in the NIV Peter is used and if you look at John 1 40-42) Here is the footnote from Macs bible

15:5–7 The testimony of eyewitnesses, recorded in the NT, was added to support the reality of the resurrection. These included: 1) John and Peter together (John 20:19, 20), but probably also separately before (Luke 24:34); 2) the 12 (John 20:19, 20; Luke 24:36; Acts 1:22); 3) the 500, only referred to here (see note on 2 Pet. 3:15, 16), had all seen the risen Christ (cf. Matt. 28:9; Mark 16:9, 12, 14; Luke 24:31–39; John 21:1–23); 4) James, either one of the two so-named apostles (son of Zebedee or son of Alphaeus; cf. Mark 3:17, 18) or even James the half-brother of the Lord, the author of the epistle by that name and the key leader in the Jerusalem church (Acts 15:13–21); and 5) the apostles (John 20:19–29). Such unspecified appearances occurred over a 40 day period (Acts 1:3) to all the apostles.[2]

Here is a thought to hold on to the Net testament is trustworthy because God wrote it via the spirit

People are hated for Jesus

The following is a thing on the truth that is going on in the world today for the Christians in other lands. Many people today are being put in Jails and killed or beaten today for the crime of being a Christian. This is a sad thing and your not going to hear this on the news because they are not caring about the Christians that people kill. If they did we would have a outcry for the USA to stop trade with lands and governments that allow people of the Christian faith to be treated right. In Iran it is a crime not to be a Muslim. It is a crime in many lands to tell others that Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven. It is a sad day in this land we live in that we are not being hunted for our faith. I think we are when Bill Mauer is allowed to trash us on open airwaves. People in government are calling the Christian right wing a bad thing. I got news for them that Jesus is coming and he is not going to like the rubbish they are doing for Him. I am calling the Democrats that use Jesus to get elected fools because they insert the bible into their speeches then they do not live by it. Either side ought not mix politics and the bible. That is for other nights.

Jesus said that Christians are going to have it easy but they are going to sometimes die for their faith in Jesus. So why do people hurt others for their faith. I got a few ideas why. First people Hate God. Hating God does not believe in him. If you do not think there is a God you hate him. I know everyone that does not live for God does not love him and to not love God is to hate him. To hate anyone is to hate God. God is not going to allow his haters into heaven. Here is the word of Jesus who is God

John 15 . 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates Me hates My Father also.[1]

Note the pronoun and the truth that if you hates Jesus Hates God. If you know the truth or even if you do not then I plead with you to go to how to be saved link. But they kill the Christians is they hate Jesus and then hate God

They kill because they are not sure of God. Here is a proof that Jesus is right on and is God. He tells people what is going to happen to those who follow Jesus. If all the 12 died for a man I think this is a proof Jesus is real.

“These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be made to stumble. 2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. 3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.[2]

They kill because they do not want righteousness to be lived out

12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.[3]

If you live for Jesus you’re going to face heat for it. Friend if you came to Jesus thinking life is going to be easy (which I think I did at first) your not right because living for Jesus is going to cost your friends and they may not love you anymore. Jesus did not come to make you rich and life easy Jesus came to save you from Hell.

So we need to do a few things when our faith is put down. First it is a good sign your living for the Lord. What are you to do. You ought to flee it. If people are making you feel bad for living for Jesus do not hang with that crowd. If they mock your king and do not stop they are bad for you.

Matthew 10 22 and you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.[4]

Matthew 6 6 “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.[5]

If they want the truth they know you got it then give it to them. If they mock you for it they lose it.

1 Peter 4 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.[6]

If they mock you turn it to a chance to make Jesus famous. That is what other did to me before I was a saved man. I mocked and teased them but Jesus made it so they were the ones that got me saved and into the Lords work.

Love you all and suffer for Jesus

Ought we gamble?

It is a important thing to check in. So here I am. I am not sure what I am going to cover tonight. I wrote a email asking about the truth of bible and playing poker. I am going to say this is how I am going to call it. I do not think the game of Poker is a sinful thing. I am not into making money out of it. From the emails I got on the issue I am reminded of the truth my money is to be used to honor the Lord. I want to honor the word and the truth is that the money that I want to use to play is not mine to use. It is the Lords money. Now if it was mine then I could do as I wish In a way if I take my rec money and go to a place and play poker it is not realty a sin. If you take money out of your living expense it is sin. I am not sure I think it is a good idea to gamble because it can lead to other things. I am not going to call it a sin on this blog but like I said last night Money is a good thing and we need to treat it right. Jesus said to lay up stuff in heaven. I think if we gamble then it is not the best thing to do with Gods Cash. I said we need to save it. If you want to make cash do it the old fashion way you save it and you invest it into a Roth. It is the best plan. So play it safe and do not play to make cash. Do not start. Make a saving plan and work toward the goals you want.

Here is a person that started and lost it all

One Woman’s Experience
At one time, her faith and family were the most important things in Maxi Chamber’s life. She was an elected city council member, business owner, and an outspoken witness for Christ.
But one day she won a simple game of bingo. Since she and her husband David were having some financial problems, the $500 enabled them to pay some bills. She didn’t realize that gambling was wrong and had never heard a sermon about it. Over the course of a year, what began as a once-a-week activity developed into an every-night habit.
Soon she was betting a hundred dollars here, and two hundred there. David grew ashamed and hurt, but Maxi couldn’t stop. She began frequenting a nearby Indian reservation casino, and on every trip to the grocery store she would spend twenty or thirty dollars on lottery tickets.
The children grew distant and depressed, and David grew increasingly angry. Because Maxi was gambling away the money needed for necessities, the family went without new shoes, clothes, or food.
Two years into her gambling, Maxi began to feel suicidal. She cried constantly, seldom slept, and began taking tranquilizers and antidepressants. Her losses became greater, and she began writing checks for much more than was in her account. She took out a loan, forging her husband’s name, to cover her losses.
Finally she lost the last of her last borrowed $10,000 at a casino table, and as she turned away the dealer shouted, “Better luck next time!” But Maxi’s luck was gone, and as she drove home she cried out to God for help. The next morning she cleaned the house of anything that suggested gambling, and, sitting down with her checkbook, she totaled up her damages. At length, she had to confess to David.
“David,” she said, “I have something to tell you.” His body tensed. “You have every reason to divorce me,” she continued. “No one would have put up with what you’ve endured over the last three years. There are no excuses for what I’m about to tell you.”
David wrapped his arms around Maxi, and they sobbed together. But the injuries were too great, and the couple divorced with the three sons choosing to live with their father. Slowly Maxi Chambers is rebuilding her life, reading the Scriptures and staying close to the Lord and to her church. And she has a mission in life now—to warn everyone she can of the subtle dangers of the habit that almost destroyed her.*

Money and the Bible

I laid down last night and I feel I need to work more out of the bible for a blog more than make it issue based. I just want to make this a place people come and see what I am thinking and doing but I want to share my heart and my heart is the Bible and Jesus. I tonight want to admit I got a coin jar in my place. I am going to fill it up and go to a place and play cards. I also went to a website in the area that has a poker club here in the city. It makes me want to do a money talk. I am a man that makes a lot of cash and tries to save. I have saved a ton of cash and I am planning to save a ton this year. I think it is a good thing to save every time you get paid. I try to make 50 and put it into a place where I do not spend it. I also take 200 a month and save it. I believe every Christian ought to give and save cash. God do not want you to make money a reason you live and work Jesus is to be the reason you live and work. It is to love Jesus that makes life worth it. Here is a list that the bible makes on your money. First you ought to give to the Lord and his work. I think you ought to set a amount on your budget and give it. I think it is to your local church first and where the Lord is feeding you. Second make it a point to give to others and their needs. Friend NEVER CO SIGN A LOAN it will kill you. I had a man named Brett I did this with and he was not a good moneyman. I co signed and almost gave my bankbook. If you co signs you lose every time. DO mot take bribes. We need to earn out cash and do it in honest ways and work. Maybe gambling is not good for me or you to do. It is not work and not honest. I am not clear on poker for fun or betting a little on a g it will kill you. I had a man named Brett I did this with and he was not a good moneyman. I co signed and almost gave my bankbook. If you co sign you lose every time. DO mot take bribes. We need to earn out cash and do it in honest ways and work. Maybe gambling is not good for me or you to do. It is not work and not honest. I am not clear on poker for fun or betting a little on a game. We ought to give to help the poor. It is a weird thing to see government taking over in this but they are. WE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT OUGHT TO NOT THE GOVERNMENT. Jesus made us to help others. Also we ought to save for our needs. I think 30 percent if you can is a good goal. I know it is a lot but it might be needed some time. If I need it I want to have 6 months of cash on hand. Or I want to have cash to go to Cali and play with. If you got a job that offers 401k you ought to take them up and max out your cash. One thing I am told that I ought to get a Roth IRA. It might happen because they are a good deal. If you max it out with 2000 a year for 30 years you will have over 100,000 in the Roth and that is a good point to have. You can set up funds to make that last plus your social you get.

Save time to read me in your life

Moss and the tniv LONG

I want to think over the news that Moss got traded to Oakland. He is going for a draft pick. So whom ought the Vikies get for him in the draft? I heard espn say they ought to get a WR for Moss. I do not think we need one I think we ought to shore up our defense and get a safety and a linebacker. Maybe we ought to get a kicker and a punter. We got a fair deal for Randy and I am glad it is over. I hope they can figure out a plan to get a good QB and then we might have a better team. I am not sad Moss is gone because we can win without him. Other teams can deal with his dirt we can get to win more games without him. Bye Bye Moss

I want you to go to this link if you are a biblical person of any kind. I am going to make this comment. I have studied the bible for a long time. I do not think the people who are making this new bible are right. What they are doing is changing the word of God. If you know the history of the bible you know that God inspired the writers in what to place in each of the books. It is inspired work from God. In the New testament God inspired his word to be written in Greek. Now in Greek words are very stict on meaning. For example Love has 4 different words in the Greek. What God wrote in his word is very particular and its meaning is to be known. Ok enter this new Bible that changes the Male into Human being. It is not what it means. Wayne goes into the male female thing. Now you got to READ THE ARTICLE TO GET THIS POINT. I am not going to let you push me around on this so read this before you start hammering me. All I want to say is the TNIV is not the Bible and do not buy it and read it. Now if you do not read the bible then your not going to understand this and you are wasting my time so I am not even going to hear your complains. Write them but know I am not going to get it. God is not a lady in the Bible and the Greek word thus the biblical word for man is a word that applies to ladies IN SOME CASES. No a woman is not to pastor in the bible. It is a big thing to get into. I do think woman are valued in Jesus highly. One thing in the Muslim faith is they are not. Christians are never to put down ladies. I think most of the moves of God for me were in Ladies. I am for woman. God blessed them a ton.

Here is the thing you need to read I know it is long but I do not want to pull it apart because it needs to be heard

Changing God's words RELIGION: In trying to make the Bible more accessible to today's young readers, the TNIV toys with Scripture's meaning and accuracy by Wayne Grudem
Purportedly "sexist" language has become taboo in some circles today. "Mankind" must be changed to "humankind," "he" must be changed to "he or she," and words like "businessmen" or "mailman" are taboo.
Bible translations such as the New Revised Standard, the Good News Bible, and the New Living Translation have also adopted regendered language, and now the most widely used contemporary translation, the New International Version (NIV), is imitating them with Today's New International Version (TNIV).
Some Bible scholars think that's great. Craig Blomberg, a Bible scholar at Denver Seminary, tells of young people and new Christians asking "Why are the Proverbs written only to men?" because of all the language of "fathers," "sons," and that generic "he." Mr. Blomberg says, "It is still hard for them to get it out of their heads that the Bible isn't outdated or biased against women in ways that it never intended to be."
But other Bible scholars, and many evangelicals generally, have three questions about editing the Bible to respond to that concern. The first arises from the basic Christian understanding that all Scripture is inspired by God. Sometimes God's writers used words like "anthropoi" that refer to no specific gender, so they can legitimately be translated "people" rather than "men." But when the inspired words clearly specify one gender or one person, should translators change "fathers" to "parents" and "he" to "they"? Does this imply that God really didn't know what He was doing?
If this first question emphasizes God's glory, the second concerns church teaching. The NIV, unlike some already-regendered versions, has become the standard pew Bible in thousands of churches, and its images stick in our heads. For example, think of this NIV picture of the wicked man in chapter 15 of the book of Job: "he shakes his fist at God and vaunts himself against the Almighty."
Compare that with the image produced by TNIV translators: "they shake their fists at God and vaunt themselves against the Almighty." An author who wrote about a lonely individual, only to find that his editor had turned his passage into a story about a mob in rebellion, would be rightfully angry.
A third question about the TNIV involves honoring agreements. In 1997, following WORLD's exposure of the plan to change the NIV, James Dobson brought together evangelical leaders and the presidents of the International Bible Society, which holds the NIV copyright, and NIV publisher Zondervan. IBS, which had been roundly criticized by many evangelicals, quieted the furor by announcing that there would be no "gender-related language revisions in any NIV Bible licensed by IBS." Yet, the introduction to the new Bible begins, "Today's New International Version (TNIV) is a revision of the New International Version (NIV)" (p. A14)—and that's what the agreement did not allow.
God's glory, church teaching, honesty—but does any of this really matter in comparison with the opportunity to de-genderize biblical language? Bible scholar Wayne Grudem, in the review of the TNIV that follows, argues that it does. —The Editors
Eight years ago I compared 15 Bible passages in the New International Version (NIV) and the NIV-Inclusive Language Edition (NIVI), which had already been published in England ("Comparing the two NIVs," WORLD, April 19, 1997). Zondervan and the International Bible Society were quietly making plans to publish a similar gender-neutral NIVI in the United States, but when the Christian public saw the actual changes that had been made to the NIVI in the interests of "inclusive language," many decided they could not trust such a translation.
Now in 2005 Zondervan and the IBS have published another revision of the NIV called Today's New International Version (TNIV). Has it corrected the gender-neutral translation policies that were found in the NIVI? Yes, in one of the 15 passages (Proverbs 29:13). But in the other 14 passages it is disappointing to see that nothing has changed (in 11 passages) or that partial corrections were made that did not really solve the problem (in three passages). In spite of a handful of helpful changes, the gender-neutral translation philosophy of the 2005 TNIV is essentially the same as that of the NIVI that caused the controversy of 1997 in the first place. It is the same committee giving us essentially the same Bible.
Genesis 1:26-27
Current NIV: Then God said, "Let us make man in our image. . . ." So God created man in his own image . . . male and female he created them.
TNIV (2005): Then God said, "Let us make human beings in our image. . . ." So God created human beings in his own image . . . male and female he created them. [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: The change from singular "man" to plural "human beings" obscures the unity of the race as "man" (indicated by the singular Hebrew noun 'adam). The word "man" in English can mean either "a male human being" or "the human race," and thus it is the best translation for Hebrew 'adam, which can also refer either to man in distinction from woman (Genesis 2:22, 25) or to the human race as a whole (as here). The TNIV thus fails to convey as much of the meaning of 'adam as it could in English today. Why is the male-oriented aspect of the meaning of the Hebrew word removed?
Genesis 5:2
Current NIV: He created them male and female. . . . And when they were created, he called them "man."
TNIV (2005): He created them male and female. . . . And when they were created, he called them "human beings." [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: God's activity of naming is important in the Bible. Here the TNIV has renamed the human race, refusing to use the male-oriented name "man." But in the previous four chapters this same singular Hebrew word 'adam has been used eight times to refer to man in distinction from woman (as in "The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame," Genesis 2:25), and also five times as the proper name "Adam." So Hebrew readers would hear clear male nuances when God named the human race 'adam in Genesis 5:2, and "man" is the best English translation. The TNIV incorrectly removes the male-oriented aspect of the name God gave the human race.
TNIV supporters say the change was necessary because the English language has changed. But people today still understand that "man" can mean the human race, as in the Wall Street Journal headline about the recent tsunami, "Man, Nature, and Disaster" (Dec. 28, 2004, p. A10).
Psalm 1:1
Current NIV: Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
NIVI (1996): Blessed are those who do not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
TNIV (2005): Blessed are those who do not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers. [identical in gender language to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: Here the word "man" means "a male human being," and it is the correct translation of the singular Hebrew word 'ish, which (except in special idioms) means "man" in distinction from woman, and surely is singular, not plural. The Hebrew text holds up an individual righteous man as an example that all Israel should imitate. The next verse says more about this man: "His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night" (vs. 2). But the TNIV changes "the man" to "those," removing the concrete example of an individual man. It changes the Bible's singulars to plurals in hundreds of such cases, in each case removing one of the primary teaching methods of the Bible: holding up an individual man as an example for all believers to imitate.
The result is (1) an incorrect translation of the singular noun 'ish, (2) a loss of the picture of the moral courage of a solitary righteous man standing against plural sinners, (3) a shift away from the Bible's emphasis on the relationship between God and individual persons to a greater emphasis on groups, (4) a loss of any possibility of seeing this "blessed man" in the Psalms as a foreshadowing of Christ, the truly righteous Man, and (5) a loss of historical accuracy, because the original writer of Psalm 1 did not speak of "those" but of "a man."
The change to plural also produces a comical picture in verse 3: "He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season" (NIV) becomes "they are like a tree. . ." (TNIV). All God's people around the world are like one tree? Another amusing example is a whole group of sluggards now reaching into one dish: "Sluggards bury their hands in the dish and are too lazy to bring them back to their mouths" (Proverbs 26:15).
Psalm 8:4
Current NIV: What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
TNIV (2005): What are mere mortals that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: The singular "man" meaning "the human race" is changed to plural "mere mortals," wrongly removing the sense of unity of the human race (the Hebrew is singular). The Hebrew singular ben which means "son" and the singular 'adam which means "man" are incorrectly translated with the plural "human beings," removing masculine meaning, and thus removing the title "son of man," which Jesus often used of Himself. (The TNIV also incorrectly removes "son of man" when this verse is quoted in Hebrews 2:6.)
Psalm 34:20
Current NIV: He protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken.
TNIV (2005): He protects all their bones, not one of them will be broken. [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: The third-person masculine singular "his" rightly represents the third-person masculine singular pronoun suffix in Hebrew, and the TNIV incorrectly pluralizes this to "their bones." This obscures the fulfillment of this verse in Christ's crucifixion in John 19:36. This part of Psalm 34 speaks of God's protection of an individual righteous man: God protects "his bones." Why does the TNIV refuse to translate hundreds of third-person masculine singular pronouns in the original languages as third-person masculine singular pronouns in English? What is the objection to male-oriented language when it accurately reflects the original Hebrew or Greek text?
Proverbs 5:21
Current NIV: For a man's ways are in full view of the Lord.
TNIV (2005): For your ways are in full view of the Lord. [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: The Hebrew male-specific noun 'ish means "a man," as the NIV correctly translated it. The TNIV incorrectly changes this to "your," and thus restricts the statement to the "you," which in this context is the son being warned by his father in the previous verse. The text no longer affirms God's observation of the ways of every person (represented by the concrete example of "a man").
These last two verses (Psalm 34:20; Proverbs 5:21) also demonstrate another serious result of systematically changing singulars to plurals in hundreds of cases: The TNIV will ultimately lead to a loss of confidence in tens of thousands of plural pronouns in the Bible. A preacher cannot rightly use the TNIV to make a point based on the plurals "they/them/ their/those" or the second-person pronouns "you/your/yours" because he can no longer have confidence that those represent accurately the meaning of the original. Maybe the original was plural ("their"), but then again maybe "their" is a gender-neutral substitute for a singular ("his"). Maybe the original was second person ("you"), but then again maybe "you" is a gender-neutral substitute for a third-person singular pronoun ("he") or a singular noun ("a man"). How can any ordinary English reader know? He can't. So no weight can be put on those pronouns. "He" in the NIV has become "we" or "you" or "they" in the TNIV hundreds and perhaps even thousands of times.
How many pronouns are thrown into doubt? The forms of "we/us/our/ourselves" occur 4,636 times, of "you/your/ yours/yourselves" 21,205 times, and the forms of "they/them/their/ themselves/those" 19,372 times, for a total of 45,213 pronouns. How can we know which of these 45,213 are trustworthy, and which are the TNIV's gender-neutral substitutes for the correct translation "he/him/his"? The only way is to check the Hebrew and Greek text in each case, and who is going to do that? Can you really study, or memorize, or teach or preach from such a Bible where you can't trust this many pronouns?
Another measure of the extent of the changes comes from seeing that the TNIV has 1,826 more instances of second-person pronouns such as "you/your/yours/yourself" than were in the NIV. Did 1,826 new examples of second-person verbs and pronouns suddenly appear in the original Hebrew and Greek texts? No, most of these are gender-neutral substitutes for the objectionable words "he/him/his," which were translated correctly in the NIV. And the TNIV has 2,321 more examples of forms of "they/them/their/those/themselves" than the NIV. Did 2,321 new examples of third-person plural verbs and pronouns suddenly appear in the original Hebrew and Greek texts? No, most of these again are gender-neutral substitutes for "he/ him/his," which were translated correctly in the NIV. You can't trust the pronouns in the TNIV. This is a deficiency so great as to render the TNIV unsuitable for widespread use in the church.
Proverbs 29:3
Current NIV: A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
NIVI (1996): Those who love wisdom bring joy to their parents, but companions of prostitutes squander their wealth.
TNIV (2005): A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth. [a helpful correction, restoring the NIV wording]
Change in meaning: None. The TNIV returns to the original NIV in this verse.
Luke 17:3
Current NIV: If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.
NIVI (1996): Rebuke a brother or sister who sins, and if they repent, forgive them.
TNIV (2005): If a brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. [changed but no improvement over the NIVI; the words "against you" are added but they are not there in the Greek text]
Change in meaning: The words "or sister" are inserted into the Bible but Jesus did not say them and they have no basis in the Greek text. (The Bible can say "brother or sister" when it wants to, as in James 2:15.) The words "against you" are inserted into the Bible but they have no basis in the Greek text. The words "them" and "they" hinder clear communication because they will be taken as plural by some people, as singular by others, and as bad grammar by many. A common reaction will be some uncertainty as to whether the original Greek was singular or plural. The TNIV is going through linguistic gymnastics simply to avoid the offensive word "him," but "him" is the most accurate translation of the masculine singular Greek pronoun autos.
I agree, of course, that "If your brother sins against you" also applies to sisters who sin, just as the parable of the Prodigal Son also applies to prodigal daughters, and just as "You shall not covet your neighbor's wife" (Exodus 20:17) also applies to not coveting your neighbor's husband! (And the TNIV did not change those passages.) But people have easily understood this for centuries: When the Bible uses an example of an individual man or woman to teach a general principle, the principle also applies to people of the opposite sex. We do not have to add the words "or sister" to understand this. We should not add to Jesus' words things that have no basis in the Greek text.
John 6:44
Current NIV: No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
TNIV (2005): No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: There is a loss of clear emphasis on the Father drawing an individual person. "Them" seems to be plural here, referring to a group. It is an incorrect translation of the third-person singular Greek pronoun autos in both places.
John 11:25
Current NIV: Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies. . . ."
NIVI (1996): Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will live, even though they die. . . ."
TNIV (2005): Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even though they die . . . ." [a partial correction changing plural "those" to singular "anyone," but still using the incorrect plural "they"]
Change in meaning: I agree with the change from "He who believes in me" to "Anyone who believes in me," because there is no masculine pronoun in the Greek text. ("Anyone who" is consistent with the Colorado Springs Guidelines for this kind of Greek construction, and it retains the singular meaning.) But the TNIV still adds an element of confusion because of the plural expression "they die" (with the plural verb "die") instead of the more accurate NIV rendering, "he dies" (correctly rendering the third-person singular Greek verb).
John 14:23
Current NIV: If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
NIVI (1996): Those who love me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
TNIV (2005): Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. [a partial correction, changing plural "those" to singular "anyone," but keeping "them" instead of "him"]
Change in meaning: Again the change back to the NIV's "anyone" is helpful. But the "If" that Jesus said (Greek ean) is omitted, and three masculine singular pronouns (Greek autos) are incorrectly translated with "them," removing the amazing emphasis on the Father and Son dwelling with an individual person. In the TNIV, maybe "them" refers to the whole group of those who obey. How can we know?
Acts 20:30
Current NIV: Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.
TNIV (2005): Even from your own number some will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: The TNIV removes the word "men" used to refer to the elders of the church at Ephesus. The Greek word is not anthropos, which can mean "man" or "person," but aner, which means "man" in distinction from woman. The Greek expression for "from your own number" is emphatic, referring specifically to the elders and not to the Ephesian church. Why not call elders "men"?
1 Corinthians 14:28
Current NIV: If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.
NIVI (1996): If there is no interpreter, the speakers should keep quiet in the church and speak to themselves and God.
TNIV (2005): If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church; let them speak to themselves and to God. [singular "speaker" is rightly restored but the incorrect plural "themselves" is retained]
Change in meaning: In attempting to avoid "himself" (which was the NIV's correct translation of the masculine singular pronoun eautou), the TNIV inserts "them" followed by "themselves," which many readers will take as plurals. The verse will easily be misunderstood to encourage groups of tongue-speakers to go off together and speak in tongues "to themselves." But that is not what Paul wrote.
James 1:12
Current NIV: Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life. . . .
TNIV (2005): Blessed are those who persevere under trial, because when they have stood the test, they will receive the crown of life . . . . [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: TNIV removes the example of a single "blessed man" who perseveres under trial and changes it to a group: "those" and "they." The focus on God's blessing on an individual believer is removed. The TNIV pictures a group under trial and suggests that reward waits until "they" all have stood the test. "Those" is an incorrect translation of the singular Greek word aner, which means "man," not "person," and certainly not "those."
Revelation 3:20
Current NIV: I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
TNIV (2005): I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they with me. [identical to NIVI (1996)]
Change in meaning: The idea of Christ coming into an individual person's life is lost; Christ no longer eats with "him" but with "them." Many readers will understand "them" to refer to the plural group "those whom I love" in the previous verse, so the TNIV now pictures Christ coming into a church and eating among a group of people.
Additional verses:
In addition to these 15 verses, the TNIV has other types of unacceptable translations, which I can mention briefly:
Changing "son" to "child" and "father" to "parent" when the original meant "son" and "father"NIV Proverbs 13:1: A wise son heeds his father's instruction, but a mocker does not listen to rebuke.
TNIV Proverbs 13:1: A wise child heeds a parent's instruction, but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.
Removing "brother" when the original meant "brother" (singular)
NIV Matthew 7:3: "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye. . . ?"
TNIV Matthew 7:3: "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in someone else's eye. . . ?"
De-emphasizing the manhood of Christ
NIV 1 Corinthians 15:21: For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
TNIV 1 Corinthian 15:21: For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a human being.
Comment: Here the Greek word is anthropos, which can mean either "man" or "person," depending on context. But in this context it refers to Adam and Christ and the meaning "man" is appropriate. What is the objection to calling them "men"?
NIV Hebrews 2:17 For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
TNIV Hebrews 2:17: For this reason he had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
Comment: Did Jesus have to become like his sisters "in every way" in order to become a "high priest in service to God"? All the Old Testament priests were men, and surely the high priest was only a man. This text does not quite proclaim an androgynous Jesus (who was both male and female), but it surely leaves open a wide door for misunderstanding, and almost invites misunderstanding. Meditate on that phrase "in every way" and see if you can trust the TNIV.
Removing whole phrases from the bible
NIV Matthew 7:4: How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
TNIV Matthew 7:4: How can you say ___________, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
NIV Matthew 15:5 . . . if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is a gift devoted to God,'
TNIV Matthew 15:5: . . . if anyone declares _______________ that what ____ might have been used _______ to help their father or mother is 'devoted to God,'
Expanding the penalty for adding to the words of Scripture
NIV Revelation 22:18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.
TNIV Revelation 22:18: I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If any one of you adds anything to them, God will add to you the plagues described in this scroll.
Comment: The first "you" added by the TNIV is plural, referring to the whole group of hearers. Therefore the second "you" is also plural, and if anyone in the group adds to the words of prophecy the penalty is now expanded to the whole group.
Objections by TNIV defenders
The defenders of the TNIV respond, "But all translations make these kinds of translation decisions." No, they do not. They do not systematically remove hundreds of male-specific terms when there is a male-oriented term in the original, nor do they change hundreds of singular verses to plural just to avoid using the word "he."
Defenders of the TNIV fail to mention that in the major "essentially literal" translations (such as the ESV, NASB, HCSB, and NKJV) translating singulars as plurals is rare, done only in unusual cases like collective nouns that have a singular form in Greek but require a plural for the same plural sense in English, or neuter plural subjects that take a singular verb because of a particular feature of Greek grammar that does not match what English does. In addition, there are some difficult Old Testament poetic verses where the Hebrew pronouns shift frequently in ways difficult for anyone to understand. But these are unusual exceptions.
To say that "the TNIV is just doing what all translations do" is not coming clean with the Christian public regarding the extent of the changes. It is like saying that a student who misspelled 100 words in a term paper "is just doing what the teacher does" because she misspelled one difficult word in class five months ago. It is not the same.
Another question is, "Why are you only attacking the TNIV?" First, Vern Poythress and I systematically critiqued several gender-neutral translations in our book, The TNIV and the Gender-Neutral Bible Controversy. Second, the NIV is the most widely used translation in the English language, so its policies have great influence. Third, other translations that use much gender-neutral language (such as The Message or the New Living Translation) have been "dynamic equivalent" translations that are read more as commentaries and interpretations of what the Bible says rather than as "word for word" or "essentially literal" translations. But the NIV is different, because many people use it as their main Bible for study, teaching, preaching, and memorizing, and they depend on it much more for accuracy in the very words. I believe the TNIV is no longer sufficiently trustworthy to be used for these purposes.
The most frequent reason given for the TNIV is that updates in language are needed to reach younger readers today, especially those 18-34. But the words that are systematically removed are not archaic words. What reader 18-34 cannot understand the words "father," "son," "brother," "man," and "he/him/his"? Yet these male-oriented words have been removed many hundreds of times where they correctly represented the original Hebrew or Greek in the current NIV. The best term to describe this Bible is not "gender-accurate" but "gender-neutral."
I agree with removing male-oriented words when there is no male-oriented meaning in the original Greek or Hebrew text. But when there is a male meaning, we dare not under-translate and conceal that meaning just because that emphasis is unpopular today.
If we believe that "all Scripture is God-breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16), and that "every word of God is flawless" (Proverbs 30:5), then we must believe that every word of Scripture as originally written is the very word God intended to be written. To put it another way, our doctrine of the "verbal inspiration" of Scripture is that the very words of Scripture—not just the general ideas—are "God-breathed" and are therefore the very words of God. Jesus and the New Testament authors sometimes base arguments on a single word of Old Testament Scripture (Matthew 4:10; John 10:34; Galatians 3:10, 16; Hebrews 3:13; 4:7) and sometimes a single letter of a word (Matthew 22:44). Anyone who does expository preaching knows how often good preaching makes use of the sense of individual words. These words are not ours to tamper with as we wish; they are the words of God.
If the TNIV should gain wide acceptance, the precedent will be established for other Bible translations to mute unpopular nuances and details of meaning for the sake of "political correctness." The loss of many other doctrines unpopular in the culture will soon follow. And at every case Bible readers will never know if what they are reading is really the Word of God or the translators' ideas of something that would be a little less offensive than what God actually said.
In many hundreds of places, then, the new words in the TNIV do not accurately reflect the meaning of the words God originally caused to be written, and thus they are not the words of God. They are human words that men have substituted for the words of God, and they have no place in the Bible. "You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it" (Deuteronomy 4:2).

A attack on my faith

I got this in my email today and I need to react to it. I feel this man is a bit over the top. Friends people wonder why I am going after other faiths and this is one reason why. I am shocked and mad at this trash. I guess that Jesus said this is going to happen to us in the end. I must say I did not make it easy when I was a kid on Christians. Jesus made this claim

Matthew 10 22 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.[1]

Matthew 2 11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.[2]

So Jesus said we are going to take heat for being Christians. We will be hated and given over to the government. They are going to kill us and jail us.

1 peter 4 12 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. 16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.[3]

I know it is not a popular to talk about this. One of the reasons why people are so hostle to the Gospel is they just do not get it. I think the evil one is fighting us every step of the way. Christ wants us to know the fight is on for our faith. Friend here is the bible talking about people in our world that do not want Jesus

1 cor 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.[4]

Bill if you read this I want you to know I like you and I want you to rethink your call to us. Jesus loves you and wants you to come to him. On the left side of the screen is a link to how to be saved. Please look at it is take the test.

HBO's Bill Maher Says Christians Have Neurological Disorder, Are Crazy
Dear Shad,
Bill Maher, host of HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher, says that all Christians are crazy and are unenlightened because of their faith. Maher made the comments on MSNBC's Scarborough Country. Maher said: "We are a nation that is unenlightened because of religion…I think that religion stops people from thinking. I think it justifies crazies. I think that flying planes in a building was a faith-based initiative. I think religion is a neurological disorder. If you look at it logically, it's something that was drilled into your head when you were a small child.""When you look at belief in such things--as do you go to heaven, is there a devil--we have more in common with (Muslin countries) Turkey and Iran and Syria than we do with European nations and Canada and nations that, yes, I would consider more enlightened that us."Maher said he wasn't speaking only of evangelicals, but included all religious people. He said he agreed with Jesse Vent! ura "who had that quote about religion is a crutch for weak-minded people who need strength in numbers."Because of their neurological disorder, he said Christians "do not believe in science and rationality." He went on to say the future does not belong to religion. One recalls the famous quote from the Beatles in the 60's that they "were more popular than Jesus."According to Maher, the Bible is a book of fairy tales, calling the account of Jonah a fairy tale the same as Jack in the Beanstalk.Had Maher said such things about homosexuals, he would have been immediately fired. But because he was speaking of Christians, his bigotry was acceptable to HBO, owned by Time Warner Inc.

Hinduism and Christ one mans stuggle

I want to stay on the theme of shareing the truth vs other faiths. I am doing this because there is one God and One way to God. If there is more than one God then one of the Gods have to be false. Hinduism is a faith that has many God in it. Here are some basic things they believe. One is that man ought to submit to fate. Another is that Good come from Good and bad comes from bad. They believe in a system of reincarnation. If you are good you go up the food chain and if your bad you go down the food chain. So the goal is to be Good so you get to be out of the endless wheel of karma. If your looking for the god they worship like I say good luck it or he is not really definable. In the matter of sin they vary depending on where you are.

Lets contrast that to the Christian faith. We have one God and he is the same everywhere. If you go to Japan or Peru the God of the bible is the same. Hindus cannot even agree on a single God. Also the bible teaches that man is a sinner and Jesus came to pay so man does not have to suffer. It is a free gift no one can earn. In the Hindu faith you be good so you get a better life. Men in Jesus are equal in our faith because not one earned their way to heaven. Jesus paid it all for them. The goal then is to live out of love for Jesus knowing it does not merit you the afterlife. Let me reword this because I wish for this to be right. God made man to be like himself. Meaning we as man have infinite value to God. We turned away to life’s of sin and did not worship God so this means God has to clean us up. Jesus came for one reason. He came to be the punishment for our sins. He died for all the sins of the world and he paid them all off. SO if we take this gift, Jesus death in our place, we go to heaven. Look at the link on the left of my page that it explains it.

Here is something to think about. Here is a testomny of a Hindu that found Jesus

My Personal Conversion to Christ
by Parveen Singh
I grew up in India till the age of seven before our family moved to the U.S. in 1977. I lived in the U.S. for most of my life with the exception of coming back to India for junior high school. About that time I was getting involved in bad company in Queens. When I went to India not only did I have to relearn Hindi but endure corporal punishment as well. That experience helped me develop a godly fear of authority and taught me to trust God as well.
In 1985 we came back to the U.S. It was in high school that my interest in the Bible started. I used to secretly read it in my room for fear of my parents. All my relatives are Hindus so I had never been introduced to the Bible. The first time my parents found me reading the Bible they were surprised and upset immediately. For me, it was an enlightening experience. The first time I read the book of John, I knew that the Bible was from God. I had no doubt because the words were so convicting and applied beautifully to my life. The teachings were down to earth, compared with Hindu writings which tend towards philosophy and narration primarily. Although my family was not religiously inclined, I always had a desire to know God.
When I went to college in 1988, I was approached by a member of the Church of Christ(not-Mormons) to study the Bible. I started studying with them and was baptized a few months later. Even though I was living away from my parents at college, I did not have the courage to tell them about my conversion until the following summer. Soon, after I told them, my family problems started. At first, my mom considered my conversion as cutting my ties with the Indian community and rejecting their heritage. My dad was concerned that his dreams for me(marriage, career) would be jeopardized by my commitment to God and His Kingdom. At once, he commanded me to come home, but I refused.
That winter my grandmother was very ill in India and my dad asked me to accompany him assuming she was dying. Upon arriving to India we found out that she had recovered from her illness and my dad's options for me. After about a week or so, I asked my dad when we were heading back. He told me that I had two options. Either to go back to Albany, NY and live with them or they would leave me in India. I was shocked. He had tricked me! We went to the village where he was born. That's when I found out how upset he really was about my conversion. In front of all his relatives he told them of my conversion and how displeased he was with me. He said that I became a ëfollower of this Jesus.' I had never seen such deep resentment in him before. Meanwhile, all this time our congregation was very worried about me.
My relatives pressured me to co-operate with my family and leave the faith. They believed that I was jeopardizing my family's happiness and security in America by being divisive. I was repeatedly reminded of how my dad had painstakingly brought our family to the U.S. from India. It sort of reminded me of how God had saved the Israelites from Egyptian slavery to the promise land. Therefore, my purpose for coming to the States was in order to be freed from my bondage to sin through Christ. I was fulfilling my purpose for coming to America by becoming a Christian. I tried to explain that my only intention was to follow God wherever He may lead me. At this time, I must confess that I had gotten depressed and learned to appreciate the power of prayer and God's word. After two weeks we headed back to the states. My dad assumed that I agreed to his options to live with them in Albany. After exiting immigration, I told him that I was going back to the Stony Brook University instead of with him. Since he could not force me to go with him, he started to cry and plead with me. It took all my energy to walk away. I headed out of the airport. I called some of my brothers from the University and they came to pick me up. My dad followed me back to the university so I some brothers opened their dorm rooms for me. What an encouragement God's family had been to me in my time of difficulty! I could not have done it without their encouragement.
I guess by this time my dad was filled with a combination of anger about life, resentment, and concern for me. His initial attempt was to get me dismissed from the University by hindering my financial aid. He met with the school financial counselor and tried to de-register me from school. Thank God that did not work! We are so fortunate to live in a land like the U.S. where we are blessed with freedoms such as these.
I thought everything was all right and returned to my dorms. A few weeks later, I noticed that I started to develop some fever. I went to the doctor and found out that I had been infected with Malaria while I was in India. I was admitted to the hospital and treated. I had reached a fever of almost 107 degrees Fahrenheit which apparently affect me psychologically. As a result of the high fever and the drugs I was given, I started to hallucinate. I could not think clearly and lost touch with reality. The stress of the situation may have had something to do with it as well. The affect of the medication and the stress took me several years to heal from. God stood by my side and strengthened me as always.
For the next five years the problems continued. It was difficult for my parents to let go of me since I was the eldest son. They used every tactic in the book: emotional, psychological, financial. I would receive phone calls all the time where they would plead with me or try to discourage me from my faith. My university advisor learned about all this and called me in for a meeting. He had been told that I was using the school's funds and resources to practice Christianity. I had several meetings with the school advisor who was told I was in a cult. But the proof was not available and my grades were satisfactory.
I hope that I am not frightening anyone by sharing this experience. Never had I thought that Satan would try to use my own family to try to destroy my faith. Although my parents were trying to seek my interests, their concern was misguided since they have no knowledge of God's grace or Word.
On a positive note, a few years ago my mother accompanied me to Church Worship on Sunday. I often have open discussions about God and her need to trust Him. God has blest me with a great family here on Long Island. God has used them repeatedly to help me deal with my struggles.
God has given me the strength not to give up the faith through His unfailing love. I am grateful that I had persisted in my walk with Christ as I grow to love Him deeply as every day goes by. There is nothing worth comparing to the relationship we have available through Christ.
II Corinthians 1:3-5 sums it up:
[2Cor 1:3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort;
[2Cor 1:4] Who gives us comfort in all our troubles, so that we may be able to give comfort to others who are in trouble, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
[2Cor 1:5] For as we undergo more of the pain which Christ underwent, so through Christ does our comfort become greater.

Is the bible true and my response to the people that r offended

Hey all you I got to clear up some things. I do not wish Ms Clinton to go broke personally. I want here to not have the cash to run for President. I want here to have money to live and have clothes. I do not wish she starve. I do not want her even close to the money needed to run for the high offices. I wish she would move out of government and do law work on cases. I really do not personally know her but I know I do not like her for public office and if she runs I will fight her in her ideas.

As for comparing religions I am going to keep showing you the Bible and its claims. I do not care if you’re offended because Satan wants me to not tell you the truth. He wants people to not make Jesus king so they will not be saved. Jesus is not ever going to change and I KNOW HE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD. I do not think it and I make this bold claim. Mohammad is not a way to God and I can prove it. Christians will tell you that we pay many dollars to go to nations and risk their life to tell others to turn to Jesus. It is a HONOR to tell the truth to all people. Some are going to be offended and I guess Jesus even said that. At the end of the day only one faith is right and that is Jesus. I do know there are others that belive other ways and that if FINE. All I can do it to point to Jesus and let him convict and save. I do not have the power to make you come to my way. Jesus does that. If your faith is not that of Jesus I welcome you to comment on the board. I encourage you to share your faith with me. I can handle that. If you’re a person of no faith I want to hear why and I want to have a open talk with you. I am a Christian and I would love to hear your perspective. I will read and respond to you if you wish. If you want Clinton in the white house tell me and let’s talk about it here. I might not be right in something I say. I might not have info I need but at least if you tell me where your offended or differ I am able to make this a better place.

I want to speak tonight to the truth that the Bible is the most read book ever. It was the first book ever copied on the printing press. If you compare the Bible to the Quran you find the pure truth that the Quran is a book that does not come close to the numbers. Look at the people groups of the world that have the bible. In over 1400 langues the bible has been written. No other book even comes close. In copies the bible is the best seller of all times. I stand corrected the bible is in 2,000 languages and dialects. In the bible it was written over 1500 years in 3 languages. All the things of the different authors are consistant. Not one author differed with others. In the New testament it was written all 50 years after Jesus rose from the dead. In any historic class this makes it so real. If one wants to put another book to the bible honestly the other book is undersold and does not hold anything to the sales of the bible. You see the bible as banned and burned. In many lands you are not allowed to hold a bible and this is more proof.

I also got some personal proof. Here is a passage that I have seen filled in my life.

Matthew 10 34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.[1]

I see in my life my own family is fighting me because I am telling the bible and Jesus is the only way. It is going to happen and It is proof the bible is right. Show me in anyother book ever the predictions the bible shows. It predicts the end of earth and tells us people are going to walk away.

I am open for comments.

More on the Muslim faith

Jesus is the ONLY weay to God and all others are wrong. I will never change this. I will never say sorry for presenting the truth. Like it or not it is the truth and is never open for debate. If Jesus wanted a debate then he would not of been God. I am not going to sit here and allow others to run a site I am making. It is not popular to take a strand and say the Muslimism faith is not truth. It is not fun to talk on things the bible called sin but I am doing it because I am going to honor the bible and not man opinion. Jesus is the ONLY way to God, Which means if you do not embrace Jesus you talk to him and not me. I am not able to make you change your religion I am here to present mine and allow you to pick it if you want. Jesus is God and Allah is not. Sorry if that is offending you go find another blog.

Is it right to believe that what is the way to spread your faith. Muslims do think this is right. Anyone that does not believe in their truth they are free to kill because Allah uses war to make their faith grow. On the Christian side Jesus told peter not to fight and make war. Jesus said he will spread the truth and he does it though us. I am not able to convert you I am a tool to share truth. Jesus works on you to teach you to witness. Witness is to share your faith. We are to share the Love of Jesus to all the people of the earth. I am not to hate you. Muslims are to kill the ones who they want to get their faith to spread. It was this faith that caused Ben Laden. Ben Laden if you listen to the tapes he did to this land thinks we are a rejecter and our land is no good and we need to be hurt. Friend if you think I am being hateful then looks it up for your self.

A marriage in the Muslim home is weird to. One is allowed to marry more than one wife. Women in the faith are not equal to men. Jesus never put woman down. He was always friendly to ladies and Jesus is still. In the Muslims world Gals do not even get to go to school. Also ladies have to cover every part of their body. This is a slavish thing they do. It is not a good thing to pervert the marriage vows. I do not think this is a good think to treat humans as they do. I think the reason this faith is wrong and is evil is they attack the truth. I am speaking of the bible as truth. Marriage is a Christian idea and if they pervert it they are perverting the truth. The entire world is doing this by saying that marriage is whatever they want it to be. No it is not. Marriage is one man and one woman coming together as one. God created this and he defines it. It is not 5 women and one man. If a Muslim man wants out he is allowed out but the woman does not have the right to end the marriage. So that is more on the Muslim faith.

Why Jesus is better than Islam

I said last time that there is one true God. Tonight I want to begin a series on the reason that I think other religions are false. Jesus is not another option he is the only one. I want to think on why Jesus is truth tonight and Islam is a sham. Islam was founded Mohammad in the 7th century. This man called himself the great prophets. He married a rich lady and began to think. He is said to have a vision of God in his 40s. He thinks God was Allah. Allah is said to be the only God and his prophet is this Mohammad. Jesus on the other hand was the Son of God. Unlike Allah God sent his son to die for the sins of all mankind. Allah is a impersonal God that wants you to work to make you ok with him. 5 things you must do to gain Salvation and they do not make you ok for heaven. First you must say that Allah is God and Mohammad is the true way to God. Then you must pray 5 times a day. Times are Dawn, Noon, afternoon, evening and night. You bow towards Mecca and you. In Christ you are to pray to him in private and tell him all that is going on with you. Jesus said to cast your cares on him for he cares for you. Allah does not care like Jesus does. You then are to give 2 and a half percent of all you make to place you worship. Jesus asks us to not only give your money but give all you are for all of him. Jesus Loves you and he wants you to love him back. He does not want your money until he has you and all of your Heart. A Muslim is expected to fast for a month every year. They fast in the day and eat at night. It is half time fast. Then you must make a trip to Mecca and you might be saved.

In Christ you’re saved when he comes to live in you. You do not have to do anything out of compulsion. It is purely out of Love and Jesus gives you the things you do to serve him. Heaven in the Muslim is not the same of that of Christ. First of all Heaven to them is a place of pure delight. It is for men to have all the virgins they want. Christ said heaven is the place of no sin or death. Heaven is where Jesus is and where we will see each other and worship God. It is not a place of self-satisfactions it is all for the Lord.

The view the Muslim takes that makes my faith say they are totally off is the lie Jesus did not die on the cross and raise from the dead. Alone this makes the faith a sham to me. They say Judas died in Jesus place. They deny the truth that Jesus is God and he lived so he could make us righteous.

A thing about the holy book they claim. It said the beauty is the reason to trust it. That is a sham the Bible is trusted because of the things it said about Jesus 5000 years before he lived on the earth. Also they claim the Quran is right on with science. The bible worldview is in all aspects of study. You cannot say this is true of any other book in the world. The Quran thinks that we all came from a blood clot. Bible said God spoke us into life.

SO how do we reach the Muslims in the world? We need to be praying for them. You need to care about them and become friends with them. If you do not care about people they ain’t going to care what you have to give them. We need to not create walls and tell them they are wrong and the Quran is a lie. We need to just show them the word and allow the Lord to use his word to reach them. Lets ask them to look at Jesus and his claims. Really all witnessing is pointing to Jesus and allowing him to work. Mohammed was exhorted to seek forgiveness for his faults. What a launch into the truths that Jesus is the forgiver and paid for all sins and wants to save you. Compare Jesus and Mohammed. Jesus is the only way but why is he. Make sure you share the truth that you have a relationship with Jesus and not a religion. Jesus wants you to relate to him like a friend and a brother. He wants to call you close to him so he can be your friend. ‘

Here is the bottom line tonight: We need to share Jesus with everyone.

God is the only God

Last time I talked on the truth and that God is a true. I want to talk a bit on this that God does not lie. If God told one lie ever then he would sin and he could lose his Godship. God has never sinned and he is outside of sin and God has never lied. God tells the truth to me in the Bible and only the bible is the truth. If God lied then we are all in trouble. I declare that all truth begins with God. If you do not hav e God and his word at the foundation then your not building on a solid one. For example you say the world was made from evolution and you think God did not begin the world. Ok I think your world view is one that ends in nothing because your saying there is no God means that you’re here by chance and when you die all of you dies. You have nothing real to live for and really besides the norms of the land you live in you’re really nothing.

If God is true and you believed in him as the truth you then have meaning to life. If the Jesus lived and died for you and heaven is the place your going then you has a reason to live. If the bible is true then the man that said that evolution is true is wrong. Now if you take it a step further and say that all religions are right then you cross a line the bible does not. God is the only God and you saw that in the bible here in Is 44

6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel,
And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
‘I am the First and I am the Last;
Besides Me there is no God.
7 And who can proclaim as I do?
Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me,
Since I appointed the ancient people.
And the things that are coming and shall come,
Let them show these to them.
8 Do not fear, nor be afraid;
Have I not told you from that time, and declared it?
You are My witnesses.
Is there a God besides Me?
Indeed there is no other Rock;
I know not one.’ ”
Who is this God He is the God of the Bible and he claims to be the only God. I have been asked why I am anti all faiths except mine. It is like this I am not able to be ok with the Muslim faith because they say God is not the God of the bible. Jesus is the only way to God. Muslim say the only way is not Jesus. But I got 2 places to show you they are wrong. Jesus said this in John
John 14 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.”[1]
Also Jesus said this

Mathew 4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many[2]
Here is the truth Jesus said he is the truth and the only way to the father AND he warned us Folks would say they were the ones to the father. One has to know the Bible is always saying this.

God Is Truth. All truth, whether natural, physical, or religious, is grounded in God. Thus, any seemingly inconsistent teaching between natural and physical sciences and God’s revelation of Himself is more apparent than real. Truth is magnified in an absolute way through God’s revelation.

Gods true

It is done the nhl players are not going to play this year. I thought they would make the deal to play and to do it now. It is not good to make no hockey when they were so close on paper. I am sad yet I did not really see lots of nhl till the playoffs. I am into college hockey anyhow and that is a better style to see anyhow because the players are not paid and th3ey play all the games hard. I think pro hockey is a bad game anyhow till the playoffs are on the line.

In my series on the things God is tonight I am into God is truthful. God tells the truth and never lies. Only the evil one is the liar, God and his word will never lie to you. Like if your wondering if your saved if you called on the name of Jesus you are. God said it and it is truth. We can read the bible with this assurance that God wrote it and it is all true. God has spoken that he made the world in 6 days. Depending on your belief you either can say that God is right or wrong. But if it in the bible and you’re a Christian you know it is right. Noah did build the boat and David killed a giant. If the bible is true and it is then all the things Jesus did are true. Jesus walked on water, Jesus healed a blind man and Jesus died and rose from the dead. All true and God said it.

Jesus said he is the truth. In that God is teaching there is ONE truth. Many in our day think there is not a pure religion and not a absolute truth. I do not agree. I was told not to say that ones religion is wrong. If you want to believe that there is no God then your right and so am I. I cannot say your right. Friend here is the truth. There is one God and One way to God and that is the Christian way. All others faiths are the same they lead to separation from the truth. I am not being in tolerate or mean by claiming this I am loving in the fact is I am laying the truth out for you so you might believe and come to heaven. God is the only God there is. Look at this claim in his book

Is 44 6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel,
And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:
‘I am the First and I am the Last;
Besides Me there is no God.
God is the only God there is. He is the King.
7 And who can proclaim as I do?
Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me,
Since I appointed the ancient people.
And the things that are coming and shall come,
Let them show these to them.
God has used the Bible to prove in it He is God. He worote the 53 chapter in Isaiah and in it Jesus is shown to a t what would happen to him. Many times this is done. One time is enough for me but there are many times the old shows the new. If you want a list I got it. If you’re not open then God has to open you to the truth.
8 Do not fear, nor be afraid;
Have I not told you from that time, and declared it?
You are My witnesses.
Is there a God besides Me?
Indeed there is no other Rock;
I know not one.’ ”[1]

Many bible verses to go to and I am not going to hit them tonight. Here is a list for you to look at and maybe I will hit some in my next report..

Notes on the vikings sale and God provision

I am the man on the beat for the Vikings. They might be sold to the Fowler group out of AZ. Fine with me. I think the first thing the team needs to do is build a new place to play. Make it a outside place and make it big unlike the dome. Then they need to trade moss for some good defense. I think a good wide out would help them to. If the Viking want to move then I think we would need a new team. Move them if they are going to make me pay for a new place. Maybe they ought to make a casino and then give the team that cash to play with. I might toss cash into the place so the team can stay here. I am not a gambler yet I do think people do it so we ought to make money out of the sins of others. Maybe they ought to have a bake sale and earn them a new place to play ball in? I think it not right to cut off people and the North Star rail line and build a place to play football. Plus think of all the value of the team owning a place to play football in. If Red had a place to play in the value would have been over a billion. Speaking on the sports bout time the Twins got the book out and payed Santana his worth. I know we cry about the money they make but we are the people that pay and I think I might go to another game if they got a team and paid 80 Million for the players. If they had a good team the fans are going to pay out and go to a few games. I want to. If the team is no good fans are not going to come see the twins. Also a outdoor park will bring in money. Build a billon dollar place for all the teams and be done with it. All the money will get more cash into the pockets of the area and you will keep sports here. We are going to have a big pot of cash to pay if we get the players and keep the players.

I want to hit tonight the truth the Lord is a provider and he is able to meet your needs. God is able to meet your needs in his riches in Christ. God has made you his own kid. If you are a dad the one thing you do is to provide for your own. God is a perfect dad and he provides you with all you need if you’re his. First and foremost God gives you heaven. Jesus is the only thing we need to have in us for the heaven. Jesus talked about not worrying about food and clothes. Our father is going to provide for you all your needs. I want to note something here. If you are working your earning your food and stuff you keep working and do it for the Lord. If you do not work and are able to you ought to do it. If you do not work God told you you ought not eat. If you are unable to work Gods going to help you and provide for you in a good way. I know some are out of work and it might not be your fault and if that is the case God is able to take care of you.

Here are some passages on this concept

Deu 8 18 “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.[1]

God gives you power to get wealth. Yet I think you ought to bless him and use some of it to make God famous. Put 10 percent into your church and then 5 percent into the world mission’s movement. MAKE YOUR LOCAL CHURCH YOUR PLACE OF GIVING. And if you’re fed in other places pay some to them to.

Psalms 91 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.[2]
God provides protection for his kids. If your in the arm of Jesus he is going to provide you protection from the evil one.

Psalms 127 Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.[3]

If your provision is not from Jesus friend you are not going to like it. I think if your life is not built on Jesus is is a wasted life. Look and pray at this last verse and it is the bottom line tonight.

24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”[4]

God is powerful

God is powerful. He is so powerful that he speaks and the world was made. God can and does for his power whatever he wants and he can because the power of God is nothing to mess with. Jesus rose from the dead. That is power is it not? Power is a good thing to not want to have. Power is a thing I do not want because it has with it things like resoneabilty and you got to know all things. God has all the power to rule all things. So here are things that God has power over. God controls nature and storms. God runs all things like rain and the sun. God has power over nations. God decides who runs all nations and there is nobody in power the Lord has not allowed being there. I think all bosses and mayors have been given their power from the Lord. I know the leaders are not all good but God decides who is there. It is a hard concept but it is in the bible. Here is the simple truth God is all-powerful. Here is the word on this.

Jer 32 17 ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. 18 You show lovingkindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them—the Great, the Mighty God, whose name is the Lord of hosts.[1]

What is to hard for the Lord? Nothing is. God is the Great and mighty God.

Ps 7 He rules by His power forever;
His eyes observe the nations;
Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves.[2]
God uses his power to rule nations. Jesus is also the very God and has power to do anything. Jesus displayed Gods power many times. He did this be working miracles. Jesus healed all things when he was on earth. Jesus healed blind, deaf and rose the dead. Also Jesus forgave sins. Look at this passage…

Luke 6 16 So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.
17 Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them. 18 Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. 19 And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.
20 When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up and walk’? 24 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”
25 Immediately he rose up before them, took up what he had been lying on, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. 26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today!”[3]

I think this is a good way to prove my point. Note Jesus does not heal this man first but he made the point he had the power to forgive sins and then he healed this man. This man had faith. Has pals had lowered him to the front where Jesus is teaching and he forgives him and heals him. Jesus shows here he has power to forgive you and heal you. It might not mean I think Jesus is going to heal you and make you rich. That is not the truth. But if you got Jesus you will be healed in heaven.

Jesus has the power to give you life forever. It is power to say you have the judgment of mankind. Also here note God gave power to Jesus. Actually Jesus as God does this. Jesus did all the things for the trinity. Jesus is the worker in that he gave his life for us. God gave Jesus all the honor and glory in all things.

John 5 . 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. [4]22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth— those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.[5]

How do I respond. I sing of the power of God. I also pray and live my life under the power of Jesus.

Psalms 68 16 But I will sing of Your power;
Yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning;
For You have been my defense
And refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises;

Defineing Mercy

MERCY — the aspect of God’s love that causes Him to help the miserable, just as grace is the aspect of His love that moves Him to forgive the guilty. Those who are miserable may be so either because of breaking God’s law or because of circumstances beyond their control.
God shows compassion toward those who have broken His law (Dan. 9:9; 1 Tim. 1:13, 16), although such mercy is selective, demonstrating that it is not deserved (Rom. 9:14–18). God’s mercy on the miserable extends beyond punishment that is withheld (Eph. 2:4–6). Withheld punishment keeps us from hell, but it does not get us into heaven. God’s mercy is greater than this.
God also shows mercy by actively helping those who are miserable due to circumstances beyond their control. We see this aspect of mercy especially in the life of our Lord Jesus. He healed blind men (Matt. 9:27–31; 20:29–34) and lepers (Luke 17:11–19). These acts of healing grew out of his attitude of compassion and mercy.
Finally, because God is merciful, He expects His children to be merciful (Matt. 5:7; James 1:27).

The Mercy of God

I am not sure I want to move on from the topic of Gods love. I want to hit this topic a bit then on we are moving to God mercy. I point to Psalms 7. Here are some things I must hit and it kind of hits mercy. I am talking tonight to the person that is not saved meaning you never called on Jesus. If I do not lay this out I am I feel not telling you everything on the Love of God.

Psalms 7 Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end,
But establish the just;
For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds.
10 My defense is of God,
Who saves the upright in heart.
In the bible God is going to deal with wicked people. They are going to come to an end. God is Just and this means he is going to deal with every sinner that does not repent. If your not saved you fall in this. God tests the mind and heart and that means you. God here saves the upright in heart meaning they are right in their heart in the view of God.
11 God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he does not turn back,
He will sharpen His sword;
He bends His bow and makes it ready.
13 He also prepares for Himself instruments of death;
He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.

God is angry at the wicked every day. It is not a good thing to have a relation with God that he in the end is going to take his anger out on you. God is Love but anger is a thing we must know. One sin makes you a sinner and makes God mad at you all the time. Now I know I am not fitting into a mold that makes God a neat daddy to come to. I know that hell is not a fun thing to talk about but I am not here to present a God that is not in the bible. I got to deal with truth and let the Lord judge me. God love must be seen as much as his hated of sin. I lay the anger and love to your feet and mind. God is love and fully does love you like no one ever can and will. God’s love for you is complete and he wants to love you fully and save you. You might not know a father but God wants to be the father you never had. You might feel you’re not worthy of Gods Love and if you think that then the last blog I did disproves it. All your hope and Love is from God. You might think you’re not good enough and that is just where God wants you to be. So I want here to lunch my next point and the is Mercy and the mercy of God.

I think of the time when I played a game with Wayne on the bus. I grab his hand and the object was to have the other man say mercy. What is mercy? It is the withholding of a Just due of your action. If you know the punishment for sin is sudden death and hell. God withhold hell from you. If you’re alive tonight you’re a product of mercy. You getting much you do not deserve. In the Christian life nothing is given to you that you did deserve.

Here are some verses on mercy

Ps 32 5 I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

God like I say is giving you forgiveness and not hell.

Ps 51 1 Have mercy upon me, O God,
According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies,
Blot out my transgressions.
Mercy is a compassion God gives to me. It is never a earned thing it is a gift.

Ps 86 5 5 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

God has tons of mercy. Mercy is new every morning. God will forever
Merciful for his kids. It is forever and ever.

Ps 107 1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Prov 13 He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
If you confess your sins you get the mercy of God. Every time you sin you need to confess and mercy is yours.

Is 55 7 Let the wicked forsake his way,
And the unrighteous man his thoughts;
Let him return to the LORD,
And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God,
For He will abundantly pardon

How do I get Mercy I return to the Lord and God does not hold sins to my accout Jesus forgives,

Eph 2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Gods mercy is the thing that sent Jesus to die for me.
