Comments on the true bible

Tonight I want to work on a series of messages about the proof Jesus is the Son Of God. Many thought on this that I want to lay out in a report form mainly for me so I am able to refer to them from time to time. In this day and age I notice people like to tell me the Lord is not true and the Bible is not either. I somewhat want to hit them with the truths and allow them to have more to debate them on. I was reading today a book The Case For Christ and for the most part my thoughts are from there. It is done by Lee Strobel who yes has a show on tv on PAX. In tonight’s chapter he talks with Craig Bloomberg about the Gospels in the bible. I think this is a good place to start laying a case because Jesus is the focus of My blog and the Bible.

You know there are 4 gospels detailing to us the true story of Jesus and his life on earth. Matthew, mark and Luke are about the same topics and john is a lot different. In all four of the Gospels Jesus dies and rises again. John tells us more of the personal Jesus and how he was the Son and the truths that Jesus said he was God. In John Jesus uses the I AM phase which to the Jews at that time was the word for God. Here are some details of the 4 men God used to write the Gospels that are in the Bible.

Matthew was a tax man. He was a sinner that Jesus called and put on his team of 12. Matthew was in the eyes of the Jewish world a flawed man. Mark was a man that was helped by Peter to write his Gospel. Luke was a Doctor that worked with Paul. John was one of the 12 that Jesus led. I note that all four of the Gospels were written in 50 years of the events that Jesus did. Compared to Alexander the Great who was written about 500 years after he live the bible was a news flash.

Here is a truth Friend that made my faith soar tonight read it. How close to the Life of Jesus do we find proof in the bible. HERE MIGHT BE THE EARLTYEST THING WE GOT IN THE BIBLE. And it dates to LESS THAN 2 YEARS.

1 COR 15 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. 6 After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep. 7 After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. 8 Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.[1]

Broken down a bit now. Cephas saw Jesus. This might be Peter but I am not sure. ( note in the NIV Peter is used and if you look at John 1 40-42) Here is the footnote from Macs bible

15:5–7 The testimony of eyewitnesses, recorded in the NT, was added to support the reality of the resurrection. These included: 1) John and Peter together (John 20:19, 20), but probably also separately before (Luke 24:34); 2) the 12 (John 20:19, 20; Luke 24:36; Acts 1:22); 3) the 500, only referred to here (see note on 2 Pet. 3:15, 16), had all seen the risen Christ (cf. Matt. 28:9; Mark 16:9, 12, 14; Luke 24:31–39; John 21:1–23); 4) James, either one of the two so-named apostles (son of Zebedee or son of Alphaeus; cf. Mark 3:17, 18) or even James the half-brother of the Lord, the author of the epistle by that name and the key leader in the Jerusalem church (Acts 15:13–21); and 5) the apostles (John 20:19–29). Such unspecified appearances occurred over a 40 day period (Acts 1:3) to all the apostles.[2]

Here is a thought to hold on to the Net testament is trustworthy because God wrote it via the spirit
