I want you baptist to listen carefully, your fight saying we do not help the poor is a slap in the face of God and not good. I think if you fail to love and serve the poor your going to lose in the end before the Lord and that is not good. The bible said to lend to the poor and if you fail that command that is a sin.
1 John 3:17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
So if you do not serve the poor your not saved and the Love of Jesus is not in your life. God said it and if he said it one time in the bible that is a command and we must follow it.
Deut 15:7 “If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother,
So if there is poor they are planted near you so help them.
Prov 14:21 He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
If you help poor people your going to be blessed by the Lord. If you do not then do not say you love Jesus because truth is you do not love Jesus if you hate anyone. You love Jesus as much as you love the scum of your life
Matt 19:21 Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.
If you want to go to heaven your going to have the attude that all you have is to be given up if he tells you to
Prov 29:7 The righteous considers the cause of the poor, But the wicked does not understand such knowledge.
2 Cor 9:9 As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”
Luke 3:11 He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, let him do likewise.”
If you eat and your neighbor does not have a job you give to the one and then eat
Deut 15:10 You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand.
2 Cor 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
Deut 15:10 You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand.
Ps 41:1 Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
If your going in a hard time maybe you ought to give your time and money away and then God will bless you and help you if you give to him. It means you give to the Lord and the poor in the good and the bad times because that is the way God blessed you. I really think that it is a blessing to give and when you do your storing up your treasure in heaven
Prov 14:21 He who despises his neighbor sins; But he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.
Note the one might not be saved and the food and blessing you give might mean they will get daved.
Prov 22:9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.
Acts 20:35 I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”
Heb 13:16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Prov 28:27 He who gives to the poor will not lack, But he who hides his eyes will have many curses.
Luke 14:13–14 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. 14 And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
Prov 22:16 He who oppresses the poor to increase his riches, And he who gives to the rich, will surely come to poverty.
Luke 10:33–35 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’
