Solid meat
I am tempted to run some old thing but I am going to hit Hebrews 6 tonight and risk the people never reading my blog. If you want a hard topis do a paper on this passage. I bet if I ask my list to do this passage I would get 8 of 10 people not getting this passage right. I want you all to read this passage and e mail me a 1 page paper on it to see where you all stand. If you got the guts get off the net and type up your thoughts on the passage and post it before you read mind. I honestly have nothing till I type it. I have ideas but Jesus I pray is the one who brings out truth.
Hebrew 6 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits.
What is therefore referring to? I think to the people that are not getting the basics and Paul is going to give a concept here that hits hard. He is moving on from the basics and to harder thoughts. SO leaving the basics we move into a bit harder things. We are not going to give you a refresher course on salvation we are moving to topics that are beyond. Verse one seems to point to we need to move to harder and things deeper in the Christian faith.
Macarthur is saying to move on from the Old Testament.
Perfection is the getting to mature in the faith. If your growing deep into the Lord Jesus and Loving him alone your perfecting. No your maturing is not on your dress to church or the reading of the king James. If you think that makes you better you missed the point. You grow by loving Jesus deeply and mourning over your sin. If your finding your life is less sinful you also are missing it because sin is going to seem to get worst the longer you go in life. No your not going to get less sinful your going to find your getting worst because God demands perfection and your not thus your going to wish you did not get into this life.
Baptism he is talking about being cleaned before the Lord and confessing sin and getting right before the lord. Claiming 1 john 9 knowing your sin can be cleaned us and not sitting there before the Lord dirty and ineffective, Listen in the Lord we want to be cleaned and closer to Jesus and totally in love with him. I for one do not want to live a life that just gets me into heaven I want to be close to Jesus and love him and serve him. Not because I have to it is because I love the Lord Jesus.

It is a harder thing but we need to think about it. But it is a part of the life we are into and the bible is not going to give us a out. Jesus wants to live in us and though us friend and we need to be willing to do and pay the cost for making him famous. I am not preaching a easy Jesus love you go be happy thing I am telling us that is good for the folks that are young. I am of age and its time we love the lost got dirty and really get them saved and be willing to give and love people that are not like us. Stop going to your padded pew and start going to your neighbors home and tell him Jesus Loves him and no matter what your life if you are able to get to heaven but you got to repent and love him.
